statement release above says suspect brought in for questioning. Suspect then "pulled a gun" and shot officer.

Will be interesting to see if they even searched the kid or patted him down before the questioning. Not good on all parts , prayers sent up for the officer and his family

My wife said "he traded a drug charge for a murder charge." And I said no, capital murder. A jury in Lubbock won't be gentle with him.

Sadly complacency kills a lot of good officers in our profession. Not sure if that's the case here or not, but sounds like it.

Kills a police officer for what? What a complete idiot. You cannot bypass fundamental safety protocols . They are there to prevent stuff like this from happening. Such a tragedy. So many lives ruined.

Local news reported they are looking for a missing body cam, presumably from the slain officer, so maybe there was a struggle for the officer's gun.

Either way, 2 families' lives are forever changed
