    Bad first shot!

Just took my first shot with my recurve. Mature 7 point. He spun right as I released. Pass thru behind back rib. I really want to find this buck. Never lost one with my compound. Keep your fingers crossed. Gonna give him couple hours.

If you think it might be a gut shot, give him more than just a couple of hrs, like at least 6 or 8 if you can. Also, a tracking dog (esp one that can catch) would be a great asset in a time like this!

Good luck, and Hope you find him.

Shot wasn't gut like I thought. Arrow covered in red blood. Had to of been liver shot. Started pouring down rain and washed any blood trail away. Will look again in the morning. Place is only 20 acres. Would have been an awesome first trad buck. Big old nasty mature 6 pointer.

A good dog can still smell that blood even after the rain.

Will get a dog on him in the morning. Pretty sure he crossed a fence and that is gonna be a problem.

It's tough when you are on small acreage.
