Headed to Sonora for a Axis hunt this Friday and planning to meet a couple buddyís for lunch before going to the ranch. Any recommendations?

I ate at La Mexicana for lunch yesterday. It's where I always eat when in Sonora. Good Mexican food.

Devil's River Steakhouse is pretty good as well if you want more traditional food.
Adios,

La Mexicana, Taco Grill, or Sutton County Steak House are all good spots.

It's actually more Coopers than Llano. LOL. It is actually owned by the Coopers family like Mason.

Yep. Coopers in Junction is not nearly as good as the one in Llano, regardless of who owns what. Lums is the best in Junction.

Those 3 are all good. The steak house had all kinds of American Food (itís all good) and onion rings to die for!!!

Taco Grill is only open for breakfast and lunch. They have a real good lunch buffet.

La Mexicana is the best Mexican restaurant is town.

The BBQ joint opened today! Have not tried it yet, but sure hope it turns out to be good, as those of us that live here need another option!!!!

And Shane, you should let me know when you are in town, as I would like to meet up with you one of these days!

Good luck on your hunt 125Dad!!!!!

I went in today. I wanted a brisket sandwich but they were already sold out of brisket. I took that as a sign my wife would be peeved at me for going without her and walked out! The place has been packed at lunch yesterday and today!

I cant believe people still fall for the "they ran out" scam. Do you really think the bbq places who "sell out" all the time can't throw a few more briskets on the night before?

This happens everywhere in all sectors. Create a false demand for something and people will just line up for it so they don't miss out.

I donít believe this is what is happening here! Sonora is a very small town. It is hard to make a business thrive here. BBQ (meat) is expensive. I believe these folks are cooking what they know they can sell and not have any waste. Iím sure that they will get a better handle on what they need to make to keep folks fed as time passes.

This ainít Austin, and there will never be 100 people in line here at a BBQ joint!!!!

The Back Door would be a much better choice. There is another BBQ place here that is better, but it is a food trailer. There is no ďinsideĒ to sit down and eat.
