Thanks for stepping up! I'll pick up whatever else we need that doesn't get donated. Once people taste these fajitas they'll be hooked, and we'll get some traction for next year. New teams are always slow to start off.

You are such a HERO!

Hey Kevin, I'll go ahead and pick up the dz onions and japs too since I'll be getting the other produce.

Updated list:

Fajitas - 5-6 cases @ $60/case 1-SKLOSS, POCO, livetohunt65, 1 -RascalArms
Onions - 1 dozen RascalArms
Yellow Bell Pepper - 1 dozen -RascalArms
Red Bell Pepper - 1 dozen -RascalArms

Pico - No Walkin STX Hank
Salsa - Witchgrass
Tortillas - 20 dozen
Grill - SKLOSS

Cutting board/knives - SKLOSS
Fire Extinguisher - Team Chicken Wangs

Looks like outside of maybe a little more funds for the cases of meat we only need someone to bring tortillas. And maybe a table or two more just in case.

If I can find the time to make some with running around with my head cut off, how much and how long will it last once made fresh? I've never made enough to last more than a day or two before its gone.

At least 2-3 weeks if kept chilled properly, but it never lasts that long at our house.

Man I think we're good. The fajitas are great by themselves. With all the bell peppers, onion, jalapeņos, and frank's pico we're going to stuff lots of tacos and have women and some men smiling ear to ear!!

Kevin those were some of the best fajita's that I have ever had. They were so tender the meat would just melt in your mouth.

X 1000!
Thanks to all that helped us out on TF!
Hats off and props to Kevin for his organization and leadership. He worked his tail off and I'm just praying he doesn't ever lose his local Palestine connection for those loaded meat morsels!

Dude knows how to party too....my head still hurts from Friday night.

I'd have to say Team Fajita was an outstanding success!! We literally received dozens of compliments. People were stopping by multiple times to rave about them. Thanks to everyone that chipped in. It's safe to say that we'll be cooking fajitas for several yrs. I love it when a plan comes together! Might even come up with a banner next year.

Only thing we need to change is cutting the peppers and onions back by more than half and a few less tortillas.

Other than that, this team rocked!!

Oh and an electric knife of some sort. If Joel didn't have carpal tunnel before Sat, he does now!! It's as much work cutting all that meat as it is cooking it.

Sr. Skloss...very disappointed I did not get to dig into the faja's. I actually was not a glutton this year & made a point not to indulge. I tend to hurt myself more on food than the hooch with so many choices. I was glad to get a gordita before they ran out & had a portion of bugs & ribs. I gotta plan / ration it better in the future. Trust me when I say there was nothing negative to be said for team side skirts from the chatter. Nice work & thanks to everyone for the addition!!

Anyway, next year for sure I'll dig in...mostly glad we had time to chat. Always enjoy your posts & was cool to be associated with you per logistics. Ping me when you get to the RGV & will make a point to hook up.

Man you missed out! One good thing about cooking all that stuff is I don't over eat. It was good to meet you. Maybe you could bring some tamale's from Delia's next year and we'll have Team Fajita & Tamales!
