Often around water and like tall trees as well. However they are also carrion eaters and I've seen them on a dead cow down on Lake Palestine.

I've have seen several on dead cows as well, feeding right beside buzzards.

Seem most birds of prey are that way. Red Tailed hawks do too.

No shot found in him, they it was just natural causes. Said he was an old eagle.
