Don't miss the opportunity to meet folks and shake their hand, Put a face to the name, and then get home and try to remember them all

Do expect to attempt to have several different conversations at once...the interruption etiquette book should be left at home as none of it will be intentional. Just the way it is...you WILL be pulled in 20 different directions but it still feels normal (if that makes any sense)

You can start at Team Rib introducing yourself or wife to someone, and 30 seconds later you could be with someone else tossing a washer...then you look up and ask yourself 'where did my wife go??' only to see her eating crawfish without you??

I bet I covered 5 miles in an area smaller than a football field last year. Kinda mind boggling but bownanza has a life all her own that is hard to explain unless you go and PARTICIPATE.

Most important rule I was given by Farmdog is not to over do it on Friday night...SAVE yourself for Saturday!! I found this to be spot on for me personally as I do not do well with little sleep.

Well put Artos. You were in the parking lot last year when I got there and I don't believe I even got to shake your hand. Lol

If you have to pace yourself on Friday so that you will be able to function on Saturday then you have not been practicing enough

Not as bad as introducing yourself to the same person multiple times... Then you got the wise guys that start switching nametags. It's a riot!!

I remember last year, seeing blake & wanted to shake his hands and get some blaze...he couldn't have been 40yds away and bet 2 hours went by before I saw him again...blissful madness i tell ya!!

GJ,

my wheels fell off when I turned 40...if I did both Friday & Saturday at full speed, I would be worthless on monday for work I cannot imagine me at a Bownanza in my 20's!!

Here is the biggest don't I learned this year:

I you want some TBH gear, you better decide ahead of time.
What size, what color, what it is you want...etc.
IT IS A FEEDING FRENZY!
If you have to think about it, it is to late! IT WILL BE GONE!
REMEMBER MY WORDS, if you think you will get it at Nanza next year.
Order it ahead of time.
It's EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF when Mary gets everything on the tables!
Mary and her crew did a great job.

Wife said why did you buy this and why did you buy that!
I said it was like reading flash cards, you just had to react when you saw it!!!
She was just ticked because I didn't buy her a shirt!

Mine started out that way. NOW, our bill at the nanza table usually rivals our hotel cost for the weekend............ but it's all good!

The merch. table is awesome every year. And this year there were a few new items I HAD to pick up!

Do not fall off a ladder the day before Bownanza and expect your back and arch you jacked up doing so to be good for 8-10 hours standing on asphalt/concrete......

If it happens again, bring an office chair with wheels or borrow a mobile scooter from Walmart for the day....
