Default Team Taquito

Round 3 of Team Taquito - "Curing TBH Hangovers Since 2010"

Mark (SAC) and I will be working on a list in the coming days base on last year's results. Of course we're always looking to improve. So we'll take suggestions from last year and if you have any now.

As always, anyone is invited to join the team. We have a good core group of guys, but whoever said that less is more is an idiot (in this case anyway).

Who's in?

Look for more in the coming days....

Looking forward to it guys!!

I've got an egg farm up by me. The eggs are very large and cheap. Let me know if I can help out.

Below is this year’s list. Quote my post to volunteer to bring something…you don’t need to bring anything to be part of the team.

Food Supplies
Sausage - 5 lbs
Bacon - 6 lbs
Chorizo - 5 lbs
Eggs - 16 doz
Tortillas - 13 doz
Salsa - 1 batch (hoping Catman steps up again)
Cheese(mixed) - 2, maybe 3 packages

Cookers
Burners - 2 ea
Disc Cookers - 2 ea
Propane Tank - 2 ea – Chad_E (1)
Setup
Canopy - 1 ea
Tables - 3 ea – Chad_E (1)
PVC Table Leg Extensions - 8 ea
Trash Can - 1 ea
Trash Bags - enough
Fire Extinguisher - 1 ea

Packaging
Styrofoam Containers (coolers) - 3 or 4 Ea
Or
Chafing Dishes w/burners - 2 or 3?
Magic Markers - 2 Ea
Foil Sheets - 1 Box
Utensils - All - SAC

Cleaning
Paper Towels - 2 rolls
Mineral/Peanut Oil - Enough to clean the woks
Water - 1 gal, also to clean woks

This year I figure we do a few things differently.
1. Add salsa to some taquitos as we make them. Maybe about half.
2. Write initials on outside of each taquito’s wrapper detailing which kind it is.
3. Have a better method to keep them warm. Hence the Styrofoam containers or chafing dishes.

Obviously, open to thoughts and suggestions.

Also, any interest in a team shirt this year??

Whats up buddy... You need to start hanging in the closet, I need that extra 1/4 inch of height.. I think you can take Taxi this year, LOL!!

I got my cooker thru Hafernick and he uses horse shoes cut in half for the handle base and deer antler at the handle... its really cool...

I don't know what kind of Styrofoam Containers (coolers) - 3 or 4 Ea you are talking about but I have some of these I get them every month from the VA with my meds in them. I usually throw them in the shed until I find someone who needs them. The small one is 11 x 9 x 10 on the outside and 8 x 6 x 7 on the inside and the large one is 15 x 13 x 10 on the outside and 12 x 10 x 7 on the inside. I think i have about 4 of the big ones right now and mabe 2 or 3 of the small ones.

last year the tables were so short, we all had sore backs from bending over, we need to rais them up about a foot or so, the 1 table that had the cookers on them was an okay height if i remember correctly, but the prep tables and serving tables were too low.

I could bring a 3rd redneck wok, burner and tank and would be happy to do the potatoes with it as well as anything else that needed cookin'. I am pretty handy with my set up.
I usually bake the potatoes a day or 2 before I want to use them for tacos so it doesn't take to long to flavor and heat them on the wok. I am also usually an early riser so this group works well for me. Just let me know if its needed and I will consider my culinary skills assigned to Team Taquito.
