    Weird. We always have a pretty good surplus and we aren't very far away from you. Our numbers were down on does last year but still had a several around.

      In short, I think deer are a lot like humans... The girls will keep the children away from the rowdy guys until things get desperate or the guys vacate the area.

      I should note that we see many more does when we hand feed the roads near the feeders as they do not have to compete as much with the bucks.
      This sounds about right!
