My experience is it’s more resistant to hail. Where I am duration really doesent matter roofs are totaled due to hail on average about every 7 years. Nobody gets a full 30.

The storm I referenced totaled class 4’s that were 3 years old

GAF is all I put on folks roofs. I find that most people love the looks of the HDZ lineup once installed. I look at it like this also. Do you want a shingle that never gets hail damage and you can never claim on insurance to replace. Or do you want one that will last a while and eventually get hail damage and insurance pay for it? Roofs aren’t cheap. I’d assume use the insurance I pay for. Just a thought. They aren’t cheAp
