    premature birth possible???

I know deer have a 200 day gestation period so that puts the fawn drop closer to June than now but looking at some pics sent to me from the covert camera this morning..... something strange is there. Any ideas
Apologies.....I know its a horrible grainy pic but its all I have unless I order an HD picture

i know its probably a squirrel but that sure seems big for a squirrel

Too big in relation to the doe to be a squirrel to me. Maybe a house cat or something?

I don’t know where the picture was taken, but our first fawns are starting to drop in Liberty County.

I have had fawns on the ground first week of April here in NW Travis county.

It could very well be a fawn. I've seen them in mid April and I've seen them in August.

This pic was taken Easter weekend. He was born right around the first of August last year. His mother was killed on the highway. There are exceptions to the rule. I would not be surprised at all to see fawns right now.
If it is a fawn in your pic I wouldn't call it premature.

If it is a fawn how did it get in the feed pen?

Do you have fawn openings in your pen? I do so they can come and go and the does are more plentiful in my pens since I added them?

Or if it was born in there it won't last long. Yote or cat will get it...

Sam Houston was covered in fawns about 2 weeks ago. But I have also seen a newborn there in July.
