I would go .338win because of ammo availability especially if you’re not a reloader, plus there are many more rifle choices in that caliber compared to the RUM. I am personally buying a .338win at the end of October.

I don’t know about the 338 win but I love my 300 RUM and my 338 Lapua. You can buy plenty of the RUM ammo. You just have to buy double what you think you might need then pick up a few boxes as you find it. Just my .02

This. Either of these will drive a 200–250 grain bullet at more than sufficient speed to be effective at any sane hunting range. The .338 Win will keep a match bullet supersonic to 1300 yards. If one of these won't work for you, you're hunting at a range that most people just aren't capable of shooting at.

RUM has very limited ammo availability and zero brass available for reloading.
