Got invited to a friends low fence ranch today. The targets were hogs, javelina, turkey, and if this one ugly spike buck came to the feeder I was allowed to take him. Well I got one big sow on the ground, stalked a javelina, shot a cool hen turkey with a really neat beard that went from blonde to black and real long. Really neat. Then after all of that we went and sat in a blind thinking this deer might come in but not likely. Really a crap shoot since he doesn't come in ALL the time. Well, 20 minutes in the blind and my buddy says he's here. I thought he was full of bull. I look up and there he is perfectly quartered away. SHWACK!!! Double lunged him and he went 60 yards. Not a trophy but he needed to go and a was glad to oblige. Plus he was big bodied so he'll make some good burgers. All in all one of the best days in the woods in a long time.
