Varies. Some shoots set long some short. Most shoots the majority are from 15-20 yards.

Thx KenWood & DRT - never shot a trad event but thinkin about Fredericksburg. Do you know if a micarta riser recurve satisfies the ‘traditional only’ requirement for that shoot? Or do trad only shoots require all wood bows? Appreciated.

That will work. I shoot in the recurve open. Not well, but I shoot.

Riser material won't matter, there are classes for recurve, longbow, composite and self bow. It's also broken down from there as far as arrow material, aluminum and carbon together and wood separate.
Check out the TBOT website for requirements. One thing to know is that they shoot off the shelf, no elevated rests or releases.

I’m torn...I shoot better with my Buffalo, but feel like taking my Ausable longbow out for a round. I won’t be taking a trophy either way, I suppose so I guess it’s dealer’s choice!

I just feel like that wood, one piece Ausable is more “trad”

Will Fredericksburg have the 4 classes listed below? And, how many classes do you boys usually shoot? Appreciated.

Men's Recurve Open — carbon, aluminum arrows, i.e. synthetic arrows (no wood arrows)
Men's Recurve Wood — wood arrows only
Men's Longbow Open — carbon, aluminum arrows, i.e. synthetic arrows (no wood arrows)
Men's Longbow Wood — wood arrows only

Yes, they will have all those classes. Fredericksburg is a one day shoot, so I can only shoot 3 rounds. 2 is easy. For 3, you have to get there early.

At 2 day shoots, I usually shoot 5 or 6 rounds.

Only one. I am working on getting a longbow. Wood arrows are in my future plans.
