    2012 Ford 6.7L

My sons truck started making this noise today. Does anyone have an idea what it may be? I’m guessing it is something with the turbo, but I have no idea what.

Also, we’ll need a good recommendation for a mechanic in the Cypress/Jersey Village area to do the repairs.

Video doesn't work (for me). If it sounds like an airplane powering up, it is the turbo. not uncommon for these to jet dusted or junk out.

Sounds like an ambulance or fire truck siren

          Maybe a link will work:
This noise started the day before this video but was not nearly as loud. I need help to figure out what is wrong. Truck is a 2012 6.7 powerstroke.

              2011-2012's

They are notorious for eating turbos and that's what it's sounds like to me!

Probably the bearings in the turbo.

                  This

Exactly what it sounds like to me and I think there is 99% chance he just diagnosed it!

My 12 had an exhaust manifold leak that squealed like that also. Either way it’s a couple grand and a week in the shop.

                      What we found:

The DPF was about 85% stopped up

The regen cycles have not been successful over the last 100+ cycles

                      Turbo bearings are toast

Delete it and go for a bigger turbo... problem solved and much more power.
