Just bought my Dad 2 Taylor Made hybrids as he's starting to lean that way.

He's a lefty, and smokes em - 19 and 25 degree I believe.

They are definitely easier to hit.

Dale, I replaced my 2 iron with a Titleist 915H 18 degree last year and it is much more versatile. Up to then I never found a hybrid I liked the looks of or felt right.

I got fit at Jim McLean and highly recommend Kyle to ensure you get the correct shaft/head combo. I did the whole bag fitting but you can do woods and hybrids only for $125. It is worth it if you've got the cash and an hour to spare.

Is the 915H 18 degree a fairway wood and is 18 degrees the equivalent of an old four wood or a five wood?

Is the idea of a hybrid that it is easier to hit than a long iron and gets up in the air better. Looks like I may have more than one new club in the bag.

Another one ... If I see a 19degree hybrid and a 19 degree fairway wood is the only difference the length of the shaft.

Hybrids are just that, a cross between an iron and a wood. Easier to hit from less than ideal lies than a wood, and more forgiving than an iron. I'm guessing a 19 degree hybrid is not gonna travel as far as a 19 degree wood, but I havnt gotten that far in yet.

Thanks for the info Chuck. Look forward to seeing you sir.

Dale, I traded my 3 and 4 irons for 3 and 4 hybrids and never looked back. I use the Adams Idea hybrids. Adams has been a leader with the hybrids. I've also hit the Callaway X2 Hot and the XR hybrids and liked them. And you can always get a good deal on the Callaways through Callaway Golf Preowned.

Headed out today to try and hit a couple of brands. I think I will wind up getting the Adams hybrids but want to hit a few shots with something that looks more like a lofted wood.

Go ahead and put me in Trophy Mary! I'll nail down my partner today and let you know. Btw, I know another team that will be entering the Cull flight that hasn't spoken up yet. I'll elbow him in the ribs...

Dale, if you didn't get the adjustment tool for your hybrid I've got one you can take to the range and dial it in to your swing.

True story.

But we're gonna take a new club, an adjustment tool, that swing, and a golf cart full of beer to the tee box and have a lash at that evil little ball....we'll worry about where she comes down later.

This is an 18 but it's adjustable. I think I'll flight it up and hope for 220-225 average. If I like it I'm gonna buy the 24* also.

I bought the Callaway Alpha 815 in 18 and 20. I should have them by next week and I hope to swing them before the 9th.

I still need to find somebody local that is good at repair to change out the shaft on my 3 iron.

I have carried and hit a 1-iron as long as I can remember. It took a long time picking different hybrids up in the store. Made the mistake of buying and hitting a 2 hybrid on Thursday, now I have 4 of them

Karla plays with her dad's Ping I2s from the 70's. Today we went to the PGA Superstore to let her go through the Tour Fitting process. It was an awesome experience. The new Pings were way better but her old Pings were better than the new Taylormades. So I need to track down the Ping rep and hope his kids need some baseball / softball gear to trade out.

Those I2s were and are still good. While on my hybrid buying spree I saw a set of the successors to the Eyes. I think called Ping Zs (with the big toe). Almost bought them and think I will go back today and get them too. Heath, you must really hold Karla back if you are in the Cull Flight. She looks like she played on the LPGA tour or she still on it?

I'm bad but I have finally given in to letting her help me with my swing.

Like I said it was very interesting to see all the numbers between the different clubs.
