    Little black box

How do you put the little black box around your pictures????
I am trying to do it in photoshop, and I think I am unintentionally doing it wayyyyyy to hard.

Duplicate the background layer, go to Edit, then stroke. Pick a color and width.

Select all on your background layer. Edit > Stroke with the thickness of black that you want set to inside. Just resave it as another document. Duplicating a layer will give you a layered PSD document. You will end up needing to flatten it anyway to save as a JPG, etc.

Of course, you might be used to working in layers if you are adding text to it. If that's the case, you don't need to duplicate the background layer to add a stroke. Just create a new empty layer. Select All > Edit > Stroke and you can add your border to the blank layer.
