A friend of mine in Florida sent me a pic of this doe his wife shot 2 weeks ago. They trailed her for about 200 yards then lost the blood. Slick Trick 100 grain, complete pass through. Deer was quartered away. This is the entrance.

Looks a bit forward for a quartering away shot. Arrow could have went between shoulder and rib cage I’d say.

weird stuff happens, but that doesn't surprise me a ton. could be too far forward pretty easily if quartered at a decent angle.
it would be interesting to see the exit.

That looks like almost perfect arrow placement to me if she was standing broadside.

Even a little bit forward it should have blown out one lung at a minimum. Horrible luck I'd say.
