Minimum poundage for hunting

My wife shoots a Razors Edge set at 38lbs and set at 24.5 draw. She uses the Beman ICS Hunter Juniors w/ Montec CS broadheads. She took her first two deer last year opening weekend. Clean pass through on the first one. Doe only went about 10 yards. She hit her buck a little back but he only went about 100 yards. I try to keep all her shots as close to 15 yards as I can. Sharp broadheads, good placement, and close up she shouldn't have any problems.

Another thing.. if she can shoot it on 35 to start, after a very shot time her muscles will develop and the 40 + will not be a problem. my daughter started with about the same set up and in about three weeks of shooting three are four times a week she was at 42#.
