I went through something very similar in 1988 with my mom; lung cancer that went to her brain. And my dad handled it in a bad way; heavy drinking, quit his job, etc. The difference was she was 46 (my age) when she passed and he was 48 and never worked again. I am fighting cancer right now, melanoma that went to my lymph nodes, so stage 3C. So I can definitely commiserate with what your family is going through. If you ever want to talk pm me and I will give you my number. I am not sure I can help, but sometimes just talking to others with similar experiences can help. Stay strong man.

I am currently going through the same scenario with my Step Dad except his spread to the bones before they caught it. M. D. Anderson has been very successful treating the lung but not the bone cancer.
