    DIY Archery Weekend

I finally got my lazy *** motivated and did some much needed archery related projects this weekend.

First, I updated my old DIY press. I built this press many years ago and, due to the design, I can't press the newer beyond parallel limb or pre-loaded limb bows. Other than that,it has a been a great press.

I ordered some press fingers from 92 safari over at Archery Talk. These normally go on his Monster Pac-Press but he sells them to DIYers for their projects. They only required a new set of press arms with 1/2" holes and anew pull point.

And viola! I can now press any bow on the market; for less than $100 and my time, and some Shiner...

I also received my target skins from Third Hand Archery yesterday; so we began construction on the new target butt and stand. This is a 48" x 48" target butt; it will be mounted on a swivel so I can easily rotate the target to shoot both sides. This will be filled with about 200 lbs of linen, like a bag target, but huge.

Gage has a friend over this weekend and they dug the holes for the 4 x4 posts and helped frame and attach the target skins.

I had to learn 'em on the rock bar, but they got the hang of it.

Not sure why the images are all rotated, but hopefully you get the idea!

Okay, apparently it's a problem with Windows 10, had to download an app to fix it. Stupid Windows BS...

      Try this again.

Nice work young man. Always feels good to get a few things on the back burner done.

Look-n forward to the final choot-n lane pics.

I got my press fingers from him as well for my slim line in line press I built.

Nice range set up. Your the first person i have ever heard of using linnen for a target. I might have to try it. Have old army clothes and jeans, and bed linen i was going to throw out. Might repurpose them as a target.

This size target will take about 8 big garbage bags of linen. Thirdhandarchery.com has smaller skins (36 x 36) and also the bag targets (you stuff 'em).
