Bored solo in tent after dark!

So bored in the back country solo in the tent after dark. What the heck do you do with those long nights? I cannot have a fire in the back country at Lake Meredith, the gnats eat me alive so I could not star gaze. Usually have 12 hours before its time to get up and about. I don't have internet out there and I do not own a smartphone. Maybe a book next time???

I know when I was up there in the same situation o was usually so tired by the end of the day I crashed by 9:30.

Can't sleep more than 7 hours. That leaves me with about 4 hours spare time.
