Yeah, pictures of that white stuff is fine but I prefer the look of Blue Bonnets and Indian Blanket.

      Haha i know i know.

Im more a cold weather mountain guy myself, but i will say when i awoke in TX and noticed how green it already is here i was in awe. Thick air aint so bad either. I live at 9200ft and just to get to your truck requires loading whatever you need for the day and snowmobiling down 5 mile of forest service road to the parking lot at the highway. But ill tell you its majestic, like another planet.

Then again now that you mention it im liking Blue Bonnets too, and i can shoot outside here in TX without loosing arrows in the snow, not that i ever miss or anything

I love the Rockies. But the mountains are no country for ome men.

Short trip for an elk as an exception of course.

Thanks to everyone who recommended Big Oak Bowhunting. Buff and his crew were top notch, and the setups were very good for my primitive bow. Nicer than i expected as far as accomodations to. Ill definitely be going back. My primitive style arrows did their job twice. What a great time!

nice job, and with a bow you built at that.

I have been wanting to get into trad but a little nervous to take that first leap.

Congrats on the kills -- especially with equipment you made! Got to be satisfying!

Thanks for the kind words guys. Satisfying indeed!

Im in Oregon now doing a bow class with Carson at Echo Archery. God willing the next big game will fall to the Yew bow Its coming along nicely, not quite used to using sapwood for the bows back.

Wonder if they've had wild hog this far north...got a couple in the back of the truck id be willing to share
