I am loving this trad thing, but practice is not fun when you don't have a quiver. The endless bending over and standing up had to end, so I decided to just make a quiver. I have a little bit of leather, but it's mostly stiff stiff. However, I realized that I had a deer hide that's been sitting on a shelf for almost three years from the first buck I ever shot. I figured, why not give that a shot?
Materials:
1-soft tanned hide
20' of suede cord (bought the cheap stuff at Walmart)
22"x 1/8" dowel
I got the holes punched to sew the hide together, ran the cord through loosely, then inserted the dowel. The dowel has enough flex to bend with my back a little but still enough rigidity to keep the shape of the quiver without an arrow in it.
I didn't get to sew the bottom up or attach the belt, but should finish that sometime this week or so.
