I usually put some venison, chile and cheese in these but they work great for fruit as well.
Basic dough.
3 c flour
1/2 t salt
1 t baking powder
1/4 c coconut oil
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup milk
Add dry ingredients in your mixer and turn on low under paddle. Add the coconut oil and butter slowly. Add the milk till you get a nice smooth dough.
Filling
3 c pitted cherries
3/4 c sugar
2 T corn starch
2 t lemon juice
1/2 c water
Bring all ingredients to boil on a medium flame. Reduce heat and simmer for about ten minutes. Stir often.
Pull from fire and add 2 t vanilla.
Heat oven to 375
Roll out dough pretty thin and make your circles. Brush an egg wash on the edge of circle.
Add filling and fold. Seal up edges.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Let cool and enjoy
