    Damascus knife 1st

For my birthday my parents got me an Alabama Damascus blade with finger guard. I love these knifes. My dad got one and its sharp and stays sharp. So I got one.

Now comes the choice in a handle. I really like the antler handles but wanted so ethic different than anything I have ever seen but still wanted the antler handles. I wanted something to go with the colors of the blade it's self.

So I found an antler sanded it to the fit and look I wanted and then came the color. I choose a wood stain to get the look I wanted. I wanted a dark color so I went with the ebony. It's a black stain.

I applied the stain with a brush and Wiped it of. I did this until I got the look I was after. I let dry for about an hour and went over the entire handle with 2000 grit sand paper. Just to shine up the high spots and lighter spots. I then mixed an epoxy and filled the hole in the handle about 3/4 o the way and Installed the blade. I held pressure on the blade for one minute until the epoxy set. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Pix just don't do it justice.
