Default DIY HDPE Deer Block Feeder

I found some HDPE 10" pipe on craigslist a couple of months ago that was cheap!

I paid $65 for 3 pieces (9', 10', & 12') 3/4" thick walls.

The two longer pieces are going to be used as culvert and the 9' piece became 4 deer block feeders.

Sorry for the bad pictures. I'll have to retake them next time I'm out.

I used 2" box tubing and welded a flat piece of metal to the top as a stop. I then welded some 2" flat bar to 2" box.

I drilled holes in the flat bar and bolted the bracket to the pipe.

On the bottom I used 1/2" round bar attached to some more 2" flat bar which I then bolted to the HDPE.

I used some leftover 1/8" thick metal plate for a lid. the lid is held in place with some 1/4" bolts that are threaded into the HDPE.

THE BAD... really not so bad, your standard deer block needs to be trimmed a little for it to fit in this pipe.

I use my Sawzall to trim a couple of inches off one corner and the block is good to go. The trimmings get thrown on top of the deer blocks.
