TSA precheck is a scam. I did the precheck screening, paid them their money and now I am checked a lot more at the airport than I was when I didnt have it.

It’s hit or miss in most cases for me. It helps in the smaller regional airports more than the big ones in terms of overall time saved going through security.

Otherwise, the ONLY advantage it serves is getting to keep your shoes and belt on...which is still better than a poke in the eye I guess.
And yes, it does seem I get the “random” check screening deal more often now.
