Setting a post in rocky west Texas

I’ve spent my entire life in Austin county with either sandy soil or the occasional black land Gumbo. But regardless I’ve always been able to dig a hole to set post. Now I’m on a lease out near Pandale and want to set a post to slide this 27’ fiberglass pole over. I don’t want to set the fiberglass because I want the full 27’. Thinking if I bury a pipe or wood post and the set the fiberglass pole over it and maybe screw/bolt through it it will be fine. Just not sure how to dig or drill a hole out there. Every anchor we have tried has hit rock at no more than 18”.

Wonder if dynamite or some sort of explosive would work. Other than that all I’ve ever tried is a big hammer drill with a big masonry bit and a breaker bar. Works...but dynamite sounds like a lot less work. Maybe some of the fencing pros in the hill country will chime in.

Dynamite would certainly be fun but not sure I’d want to be the one in charge of it. Lol

Hammer drill or jackhammer depending on the size hole you need.

This is my set up. Beltec HC-300, I added about 2,200lbs to it so the skid steer would have some down force.

This is my neighbors set up...22k machine. I think he told me it generates 16,000lbs of down force.

Use a Bar and sweat or hire a couple of boys to dig it...
