Sometimes the stripes on a bobcat wash out in a night pic and you can't see them. That being said the head looks lion-like to me. Just hard to get a sense of size/scale in that pic.

It would take a lot of imagination for that to be a lion but then that is what most everyone WANTS to see. I say bobcat.

Can you see the tail in original pic? Your fingers are in the reflection on the monitor where the tail is. Also that paw that is up looks pretty darn big.

Bobcat. Look at size of the cactus. Also you can see the cheeks on a lion you wouldnt be able to see the puffy cheeks

Pretty close to that cactus measure how wide it is, about 6 of those is the length from nose to Butt. Maybe that could help, or not. Looks ML to me. Maybe

There is a huge difference between a mountain lion and a bobcat, at least in my experience getting them both on game camera. Mountain lion is a lot bigger. You should be able to discern the difference. To me that looks like a cougar/mountain lion, but with no reference and a blurry pic its hard to tell for sure.

In other words if the animal in that picture is darn near as big as a deer would look in the same picture, it is a mountain lion. If it is more the size of a coon (or even twice as big as a coon) it is a bobcat.

Like mentioned above, hard to tell with that picture, but mountain lions aren't born full sized either. Could be a juvenile. Having not seen a mountain lion on any of my cameras, I'm just offering my $.02.

Post the pic from a p.c.,and post the 1st pic also.
I saw a Mt.Lion at White Bluff Resort, lake Whitney about 15 yrs ago..Plain as day, loping next to the rd..We had a 7am tee time, right at daylight when I saw it.
Got to the clubhouse, and told my buddies what I saw. They convinced me it was a big,big,bobcat..They trapped, and killed 4 Mt.Lions in the next 6 months on the property, and adjoing property..Deer #'s were dropping like crazy.

Those shoulders, and neck area look way bigger than My bobcat. He was huge, for our area;according to the taxidermist in Ballinger.A paddle on a cactus that's never been sprayed can be 10" I bet.
