I hung this spot just for this week. Thick woods to the north. CRP field to the SE. They travel the edge of these woods looking for love.

I hunt 15 minutes or so from honey grove and I have just now started to see bucks move a little. Till about 2 weeks ago they were still in bachelor groups here.

Back in the early 70ís a college friend put me in a tree stand near Honey Grove before daylight. When it started getting light I saw lights coming on and then I saw people. He put me beside a nudist colony. Those people didnít wear clothes even when it was cold. Needless to say I didnít notice if any deer came by

Moved location due to wind. Lots of video and pics at this funnel point. Quiet a bit of day time movement and a giant 8 came through yesterday at 6pm. Tons of hogs also in here so that may be a bonus.

Saw a dead doe and small buck on the side of 78 leaving the woods earlier, someone had already lopped the horns off. They were literally across the street from one another we could assume he was chasing?

What's funny.. he's right. Doesn't matter if it's a ranch or lease, public or private. If everyone has the same attitude about it, the deer will mature and everyone will benefit. I don't have any say in what one person shoots as long as it's legal, but I will do my part to encourage others to shoot mature bucks and let the young ones grow. I also understand that for some a shot a legal branch antlered buck, especially on public land, is like a winning lotto ticket, and if it makes them happy then I'm happy for them. Don't be part of the problem be part of the solution. Your thought process is exactly what everyone else is saying, so either you just want to shoot any buck that walks in front of you and use this as your excuse for shooting 2.5yo bucks, which is fine, or you have a poor thought process.

but you guys don't say anything on the other 3 posts concerning the same pic? No ... that's what's funny.
The regulations doesn't allow me to shoot ANY buck in front of me so when I see a LEGAL one, you dang right I'm going to shoot, is what I paid my license for. And one over 13" is no slouch either. You can't eat antlers either, if that's your process.
And, you follow me from another thread(Fannin), lol. Wow.

We hunt 800 acres of private ground. Like I said his buck was easily legal and I donít frown upon him for harvesting it. He eats on deer/hog meat year round. And yes I know you canít eat the antlers. I just choose as a hunter to only attempt to harvest mature bucks. 4 1/2 years and up if possible. So there are years that I donít shoot bucks. I can live with that. I harvest does for meat. But when I do let an arrow fly itís always a mature buck and normally has some very impressive head gear. Again to eachís own. As long as itís legal and it makes the hunter happy kudos to all. Now everyone get back to hunting!!!

Back at it again. Lets see if the deer want to play today. Hunting all day and tomorrow headed to Oklahoma to look at two different leases. That will be a all day affair.
