Did you use speciality heat treat to do your blades? No biggie just curious?

The shear is the single best tool in cedar control available. We are clearing at a rate of 15-20 machine hours a week right now. Amazing what a quick difference it makes in the look of the land and the quality of the grass and browse. Our goal is the get the ranch back to what it looked at in 1900 less the metal barn, about to be built house, etc.

            Yes Sir,

Lone Star Heat Treating in Houston did them for me. They were carbonized due to the fact I used A36 iron and were hardened to about a Rockwell 42.

Hopefully I can tell you this next weekend when we get the hydraulic hoses on it.

The only thing I see that I would do different, and I'm no expert, is that I would use a curved blade setup like they use on the jaws of life. The blades, when tip to tip, look like a parrot beak. That way, one you get them around the tree, they don't push back, they just snip it off. But again, I'm no expert, just going by fire service experiences. Good work otherwise.

I reminds me of a huge fire ant. Sweet build.
