The entire figure 6 trap set-up is based on the premise that there is not a trigger or Spring loaded door. The hogs can keep coming in, but can’t get out.

I can’t see the pics though.
They should be able to push in after root stick is triggered.
On imgur, clickon the pic, then go to the lower right side, clickon "large thumbnail" then click on "Copy" to the right of "Posting on forums" or something like that. Go to where you want to post and paste the link--done.
I hope not for long. I would imagine that it will take a while for them to get use to it. I did not corn the out side. Thought I would wait till next time. Will only get to have it set on weekend nights when I am out on the land.
IMO, both sides of the "chute" should be cattled panel. I did the heart shaped trap once and the stick-holding-the-panels-apart thing. It worked on a few hogs once and on a single hog after I quit baiting it. I guess the corn smell was enough. I don't know how well chain link is gonna work, may be too flexible. All you can do is try.....and learn. Put a couple cameras on it. They'll tell you what you need to do.

Good points.
I was not sure if the chain link will work, or they will be able to dig under. They will not be able to climb. The top would flex in on them.
Have cam set to see what comes by.
The root stick should give the hogs time to get in befor it closes down, where I guess more could push in. I could see both sides of the shoot being panels but I only had one.
Honestly I can't see it good enough to critique it. There is another figure 6 thread with a good diagram on it. A true figure 6 trap doesn't have a trigger.
