I had never heard of killing/keeping marlin but supposedly white marlin makes excellent sashimi. Shared amongst many and we will be making fresh sashimi. Not something to do often of course.

You’re right. It’s suppose to eat great. And totally legal. I just can’t do it. Not that I am all high and mightly because I’ll gaff the **** out of one in a tournament. LoL.

We lost 4 others. We fought one tuna for 30 minutes that felt like a Volkswagen but never laid eyes on it and it pulled the hook. We were on fish all day. Great time.

I tried to organize this exact trip for a buddies bachelor party, but I got out voted and we went to Florida bass fishing and gator shooting instead.

Though I've now convinced the guys we are doing a trip if not every year, every other year and this is on the schedule for next January.
