Aspen, had a good weekend!
My 14 year old daughter Aspen, had a very successful weekend. We set out after a buck she named Rhino. Rhino is and old unique buck that we decided to take out. After several attempts to get him last year, we came up empty handed. He is one of the wisest deer on our place, always finding a way to avoid death. Saturday morning we went to the stand that he had been showing up at. He showed up, but stayed well on the other side of the feeder never offering a very good shot. After a brief visit he decided to leave. Later that morning a group of turkey came in and she was able to take a nice Jake.

Saturday evening we set out after him again. With a stiff wind we climbed up into the stand and waited. After about an hour of sitting I spotted him up the hill. He made his way down to us and began eating. Once again he never would offer a close shot, but Aspen being the archer she is, told me that a 26 yard shot was no problem for her. I was worried because of the cross wind, but with ice water running through her veins, she got it done.
