Default Friday Golf

Last year a group of TBH'ers met at one of the courses in Bryan for a friendly game of pasture pool. I had a blast last time and wanted to see if anyone had any interest in doing it again.

I have talked to a couple of people and they all seem to want to do it again, so we need to get a tentative head count so we can give the course a fair warning.

Last year we talked about getting a best ball game going, but we never went through with it. Doesn't matter to me either way, but a $20 entry fee for each two or four man team would make things a little more interesting.

Let me know what y'all think...

So are you going to play or not?

Matt is going to look silly if he is the only one wearing a lime green sweater and checkered shorts.

Since Friday is in the first 5 business days of the month, Tina has month end close and won't be able to take off ... otherwise, I'd play. We most likely won't roll in till 7ish.

If you could please post what you would like to do as far as two or four man scramble and if you would like to play for some money or just bragging rights. Then, once we get our final count down, I will tally all the votes and the majority will rule.

If you don't care either way, your are leaving it up to me which is never a good idea.

I vote for a four man scramble with a $20 entry for each team. 1st place gets 70%, 2nd gets 20%, 3rd gets 10%.

X2... This is my first nanza, so I'm entered to play with whomever, however, for whatever.... but don't expect anything but mediocrity and the beer to go down good. (plus plus it will keep mommas bleeding heart story's about how much she misses CS out of my ear for 4-5 hours) So I'm definitely entered in this competition.

I'm thinking we will tee off about 1 or so. I think that's what we did last year. As far as getting your foursome together, as we get closer, I am sure teams will need to pick up some more players. Allot of people that played last year have not chimed in yet so I am hoping they are able to make it again.

We have 3 of our 4 covered with a couple of prospects for number 4 depending on whether they can get off work or not. We will just kind of have to see how it pans out.

Is the shop close to the hotel and/or course? Centraly located would be perfect, but i doubt that was one of your criteria in finding a shop

I don't think Wilson is goin this year, but I'll find out this weekend.

I'm down for 2 or 4 man teams and 20 bucks or whatever, I'm a crappy golfer....but somewhat usefull in a scramble.

It might not hurt to get a little more organized than Heath and I did last year, and possibly get dollars collected ahead of time. We got lazy last year...

I'm with you on the crappy golfer thing, that's why I enjoy the scramble. Makes me feel less worthless I guess.

I don't have any problem taking care of this. My only concern is getting a accurate headcount so we can let the course know.

I'm just going to go ahead and say we are going to do a 4 man scramble for $20 a team. Winner takes 70%, 20% for 2nd, 10% for 3rd. Tee off will be around 1:00.

I will call the course later today and see what else I need to do besides get a head count.

If y'all want to mail me a $20 check for your team, pm me and I can respond with my address. If y'all do this, it will make it allot easier to get a team count also.

Also, your team doesn't necessarily have to have 4 folders either. If you can only find 2 or 3 teammates, you are more than welcome to do that as well. Just something I wanted to throw out there since I have seen other "tournaments" done this way to boost participation.

How bout 10 dollars a head? Enough to keep it interesting, but not steep enough to keep anyone out.

We're not coming up until Saturday morning, but I'm thinking about just making a day trip Friday to do this.

1 1/2 hours isn't too far to drive for a fun golf game is it?

We like high handicaps. I will probably be one of worst swinging Friday, so don't feel like the lone ranger.

Last year we all gathered in the parking lot after we signed in. We can figure out all the little details then.

The only thing I ask is that you get your teams together as much as possible so we can cut down on confusion.

Sweet. Glad you will make it.

I would rather not draw in the parking lot simply because we need a accurate headcount before we show up. If we make our teams up beforehand, everyone will be more likely to show up for their team.
