Wrong neighborhood.....Id venture the vast majority of people in this neighborhood are armed.

Glad the couple were prepared.

Read that on the news..there was a little confusion in the report. Was the guy shot out side the home on inside?

From what I heard, the guy kicked in the back door. Mr and Mrs. woke up and went to the back of the house. Ended up shooting him in the backyard. Intruder supposedly was armed.

Seems like a gray area though. I guess it depends on if he was shot in front or back. Hopefully they don't get charged with anything.

I just watched this video and it now really unclear as to where he was killed. I will say, I just drove by there and there was a cleaning van outside.....so maybe it did happen inside the house.

I agree they shouldn’t be charged.. with the Harris County DA’s Office you never know. Play stupid games win stupid prizes. I’m sure they’ll present to a grand jury.

If this happened at my house:

Me: Which gun do you want honey?
Her: Don't care.
Me: Ok. Here ya go.
Her: Ew, not that one.
Me: Just pick one.
Her: Seriously, I don't care. I'll shoot anything.
Me: Ok, how about this one.
Her: *agitated look with eye roll* "Really?"
Me: Please just pick something or I'll go back to bed.
Her: Why are you so difficult?
Me: Ok, goodnight.

When the Castle Law was passed we lost the legal protection if the bad guy was shot at night, at night we were automatically found to be in fear of our lives and it was a legal shooting.

The DA is a LWL and they do not like to see a member of their voting base shot dead.

The investigator answering questions does not make it clear but if I was betting man, I would say the burglar was shot inside the house and tried to leave and probably met his maker as he fled the residence...

Prayers up for the home owners.

Kim Ogg will likely go after the homeowners. The perp was just a poor man down on his luck just trying to make a living, and this horrible couple ended his life just as he was turning it around. That will be the spin out of the DA's office.

"The individual is inside the residence... that was shot and killed..."

Not sure why there's uncertainty about where it happened or where the guy was.

Agree but in todays climate we find reasons to shift blame or justify actions. Whether it be oppression, mental illness, under privileged, list goes on

Sad situation all the way around but Im sure home owners feared for their lives in that scenario

This happened close to my office. I have a buddy who lives in this neighborhood and does business with the home owner. From what he said the burglar was high (thought to be on PCP), armed, and was kicking the patio door....Home owners took action when the door broke and the burglar entered the home.

Supposedly the guy kicked in the back gate. The whole time they were yelling that they had guns and would shoot. They had a large glass window in the back of the house. The guy broke the gate and entered back yard and was walking towards the back of the house. They started shooting when he was about 10' from the house. He kept coming and stepped/walked through the glass window and they kept shooting. Ended up at their feet dead in the living room after MULTIPLE gun shot wounds. Really a terrible deal for the homeowners.

This is the story that was reported to me by a neighbor of the homeowners.

Geez. That is terrible. I am not 100% on the details and sounds like you got the story basically firsthand. Everything that I have heard is in line with what you said....the re-occurring theme is that they saw the guy before he was in the home, made contact as he was approaching/entering, he kept at it and ultimately died in the house. I am not sure if the guy had a gun/knife/ax/fountain pen but everything I have heard is that he was armed in some manner and on something. It is a bad deal all around.
