There will be no school for him. There is a hole cut into the cast for him to use the bathroom. Someone has to set him on the toilet and help him sit there as he can't balance himself. We are learning the tricks to make things easier for him as we go. I bet it's no time before he figures out a way to move around with it on.

Had to go back to work today. Yesterday was a good day for Hays. We had a house full of family and friends in and out all day with each one bringing him toys and candy. The wife just sent me this picture of him with more gifts. He will definitely be spoiled to all the attention he is getting from this injury. My wife and I thank each and every person who has been praying for our family. If anybody ever doubts the power of our lord or prayer feel free to contact me and I can tell you that our God is a strong one and prayers do work.

I broke my right femur all the way down when I was six. I was in a body cast just like that one for two months. I had to learn to walk again. He will be just fine my friend. Prayers going up for you, it'll be a road of rehab for a bit. But I have no doubt he will be just fine, I did I have been in both the USMC Infantry and the Army infantry for six years total. Rode saddle bronc all through high school. Get a red wagon, that's what my dad pulled me around in when I was in mine, also that cast will get to itching so fiercely it will drive him mad, use a hair dryer and blow it down in that cast around his abdomen, and a tooth brush works good to scratch without tearing up his skin. Hope it helps with the little guy.

I actually had him outside in his wagon yesterday. He is all boy who loves being outside so I see many wagon rides in our future.

Can you explain how and where the femur broke ? My son broke his in the middle between hip and knee clean break they put him in traction over night then put rods in the next morning with no cast just a brace. He walked the next day with a crutch and we went home.
He went to rehab the following day and they had him bend his knee a little bit more and more everyday.

Glad to see him smile. That's a true sign of recovery. Prayers for him and family.
