Default Coon trap home use

...because my wife made me swear I wouldn't poison or shoot the coons...any recommendations?
Got into my trash early this morning then fled down the street gutter.

sorry to hear. I always laugh at my neighbor who traps them and transports them down the road to "relocate"

Get one of the Duke's dog proof traps. Then smack it in the head with a stick since you said you wouldn't shoot or poison it.

Maybe get a live trap and then haul it off?

Have a heart traps at TSC. I've had success with just cat food, but I've heard sardines are pretty good too.

Cant' shoot or poison? Do you have a pool? Once captured, throw cage into pool.

Only way to get rid of them is to eliminate them by any means. Trappin em and relocating will not work. They WILL B BACK .

Live trap. Vanilla wafers for bait. Sardines work great but also work great for skunks and possums.

Before you go all Joe Dimaggio on it. Make sure you catch it where no one can see batting practice taking place. We get it, but if a neighbor sees it, they might not get the clubbing part.
Get a Z-Trap with marshmallows and maple syrup. Swing away

I like the way you think, but how about this?
OP, just grab a golf club (an old driver preferably) and go all Jim Furyk on said coons. Then if a neighbor sees you hackin' away, they'll figure you're just working on your golf swing

Conibear 220 in a square bucket set (like bird seed or cat litter). Done.

Might accidentally take out your neighbor's cat, but oh well its a cat.

Appreciate the recommendations. Figured there would be some good laughs too! I'm pretty close to Rice University so a quick relocation a few miles out should solve the problem.

Wait for a really hot forecast and set the trap right before leaving out of town for the weekend. "Ahh Honey, I feel so bad. The poor thing must've overheated."

Live trap then call animal control. They will come take the raccoon to 'relocate' but will actually euthanize it.
Without trapper's permit, it is illegal for you to transport it anywhere.
Both the prohibition against you 'relocating' it and animal control's euthanizing it are based on the potential transmission/spread of rabies.

Sardines are great for catching the neighbor's cat also. Stick with corn or something sweet.
