I’ve been bow hunting since October and have not had a shot - even at a doe. There just aren’t many deer around here. I really want to kill one to eat next weekend and I can cover more ground with the rifle

A goal is something you strive to attain regardless of the challenges it presents. If your goal is to shoot a mature buck with your bow, then you did right by not settling and shooting it with your rifle IMO.

If you had, then you would be more upset and disappointed with yourself for not staying the course.

The best things in life very rarely come easy, and I applaud your decision to hold out. You will make it happen the way you want it to happen!
