Big buck dead by feeder

Maybe 50 yards away.

Not a regular in the pasture.
He'd come in late season, always run down.
I'd get a pic and he'd disappear.
2 years in a row.



Obviously, been dead a while.
No reason to go all conspiracy theory, but dang.

Anybody else ever find a mature buck dead of natural causes near your feeder?
I like it better when they just disappear, this drives me crazy wondering how it happened.

Another weekend surprise.
My boy landed a great bass from that tiny creek behind him.

Found a old 8pt that had double drop tines (so actually a 10pt.) 50-60yards from one of my blinds coiple years ago. Had never seen the buck nor had him on camera. True E Texas ghost.

Found two that way. One is a euro on my wall currently. But if I had to guess, they were hit by cars, both were found within a mile of I-77 in Canton, OH. One was 20" inside, the other was in velvet when it was hit, 23" inside. Both monsters.

Deer die all the time. We had a few show up dead around water a few years back when there was some blue tongue going around. Could have been from fighting, could have been from parasites, or infection. Or lead poisoning.

I hate to find a dead buck. Such a waste.
Found a monster Goliad deer several years ago.
3 miles from where I last saw him. No indication of cause of death. Rancher kept it.
Found a fresh dead monster 50 yards from my blind one year in Pleasanton.
Arrow wound. Not ours. Kept him for a Euro.

Found a big buck dead by a feeder last year. He had been gored by another buck. The trail cam got a pic of both of them.

Found this one a few yrs ago about 100 yds from a feeder. He was going to make a hell of a buck. Scored 141”.

I found this one 50yds from my house. There is a feeder about 50yds from where I found him also. Don’t know any history, as I just moved here last summer, and found him a couple months after we moved in.





His horns were as white as his skull when I found him. I had them stained so I could put him on the wall. I sure hope I can put an arrow thru one like him one of these years!!!!
