Default Montgomery, Texas - where to buy groceries

wife, daughter and their girl friends are in Montgomery and looking for a place to buy groceries for 1-2 days. Is their a Brookshire or small grocery store to buy food items ? Any suggestions on things to do or places to eat ? They are going to Blue Bell Thursday and then Waco on Friday. thanks

ooops, wrong forum

1. Do NOT speed in Montgomery.
2. There is a BB at the corner of 149 and 105, there is a Kroger at the corner of 2854 and 105.
3. Nice small place to eat in town is the Cozy Grape.
4. Relay Station out 105 west towards Plantersville is good cafe food and I think Friday nights is all you can eat catfish(used to be anyway). They also have the big steak challenge too. 70 something oz's.
5. Do NOT speed down 105 towards Conroe, Conroe PD is thick and works it hard.
6. Restaurants on lake are pretty much bar food. Wolfie's is ok but stays crowed.
7. Ransom's steakhouse in Montgomery between 2854 and 105 is good.
8. Things to do....not a whole lot in Montgomery really. There's a putt putt place by Ransoms and also Fernland park right across the street. Its a little place with old historic homes on it to look at in go if you like that sort of thing.
9. And of course all the little boutiques/ shops in downtown Montgomery. You can park and walk to all of them.

I can help with recommendations for Waco if you can narrow down what kind of food they like.

Brookshire Bros, Kroger and Walmart all in our little town. If you like Mexican food there’s plenty of choices. Seven Leguas, El Bosque, Big Sombrero, Mama Juanita’s and Fajita Jacks. You also have Vernon’s Kuntry Katfish 105 east towards Conroe, Kitchen Tales is new and not bad right behind the Lake dam, Sams Boat, Panera Bread, Phil’s Roadhouse and Pizza Shack. Lots of good choices.

A good buddy of mine ran the Heritage House for years. His in-laws owned it and running a restaurant, and the hours required, dang near killed him. He's now the Head Ag teacher at New Caney HS. They sure had good food.

I have met him before. I used to deliver there when I first started working for Ben E Keith.

The old man was a super nice guy.

Pizza Shack has good food.

We talked with Mary and Linda about it quite a few times. I think they said they start at 6am and run till 11pm ( work hours, not open hours ). They were trying to find a cook so they could stay open but nobody worked out. Long hours and hard work.
