What's the appeal of Ruger w/ Zytel stock?

I have a Ruger M77 MarkII with a Zytel stock in .270. It was my first deer rifle so I'll keep it forever for that reason. What's the appeal of this gun with the Zytel stock? I'm not a big gun guy so I really have no clue. And maybe there isn't any particular appeal per se....

Its an all weather stock, not for me on an M77, but I'm sure it serves a purpose. AKA "boat paddle".

I'm an old guy and vintage blued steel and walnut is my thing. I don't care for the synthetics and ARs at all.

I have never understood the appeal; however, the market disagrees with me. I love a quality synthetic stock. . .and I remain puzzled about the Zytel.

Cuz they don't make them any longer...it creates the market.

No different than a Python other than price point.

Makes sense. I simply had no clue.

I wish I had one for my M77 243. Anybody got one for sale?

I've got two of them and I am always in the market for another. They feel more solid to me than a hollow plastic stock and I never have to worry about weather warping my stock.

its funny back when they were still in production you couldn't give them away . now they bring twice as much as they did new . my opinon is that that they are built like tanks and most all the newer rifles of any brand are built with less quality .

My appeal is the 3/4" groups my 270 shoots!

Cause they consistently shoot very well.
