    $2000 Rifle Budget

Have some play money and am looking at 2k for rifle and scope. I know opinions vary wildly but for an all purpose hunting rifle what would you buy?

If I had $2,000 to blow, taking into account what I already have, I'd go with the new Weatherby First Lite edition in 300WM. I want a larger caliber, and I like the long barrel and that it already comes with a muzzle brake. For the glass, it would be a Leupold VX 5 HD 3-15x56.

Ha....I was gonna say APR special and a Tasco. But, if I were in your shoes I would think seriously about getting the APR special then save up for a scope.

Left hand Browning X-Bolt in 300 WM and a Diamondback Vortex, and a larger bipod. And probably a cheek rest right away.

definitely for me i would stay with my Browning A-Bolt one hell of a gun.

APR Build Special, and get optics later, or save while you wait for your gun to be built.
