Default BOWNANZA X - a CLASS ACT

I would like to thank everyone that I met over the course of the Bownanza X weekend for being so personable and friendly to a new kid on the block. It is nice to have folks recognize your screen name, and greet you with a genuine smile and a firm handshake. For me it was a great couple of days being able to match the words on a screen with a person in real life.

Good friends are hard to come by; as are opportunities to meet new ones.

A rainy March weekend in Bryan Texas amongst a great group of people changed all that for me.

The food was off the charts, the pickin’ was great, and the camaraderie was second to none.

I believe the bringing together of so many different personalities and age groups that all share a passion for hunting and the outdoors,
is a great thing.

Thanks to everyone that makes Bownanza and the TBH what it is…..A CLASS ACT……..

It is an honor to share the campfire with such good folks…..

Sadly I didn't get to shake your hand (THIS TIME) but will make it a point to next year!

You ain't gonna have a better weekend with "Strangers" than a Bownanza weekend!

Thank you fellas for making me feel welcome.

Forrest- I saw you plenty of times- but didn’t get to catch up with you and visit.

Fishndude-we made a drive-by introduction, & I never caught back up with you.

I met a lot of folks over the weekend; I hope some of them post up, and say hello…..

I'm pretty sure I met you and shook your hand. If not, I will next time. I met so many new faces and reacquainted with some I already knew (trying not to say old faces as it didn't sound like what I really meant).
Bownanza is the reason there are so many happy hours thruout the state.
Bownanza is the reason there are so many unofficial TBH hunts thruout the state.
TBH is a very unique site as many here already know. Thousands of members willing to get together with others that until met are "virtual friends" that become real friends, help get items to each other thruout the state having in most cases never met either party involved, willing to go out of their way for those with needs greater than our own, not afraid to express those needs and ask for or accept help. No other hunting site or any online forum does for each other as TBH does.......anywhere across this nation.
So much talent in a variety of areas and every one of us is a much needed member of this unique group. I am proud to be a part of it.
Sorry, didn't mean to hijack!!!!

Mike you were the only person that I had actually met before the Friday night pre-Nanza party. I sure was happy to see a familiar face Friday night. It kind of helped break the ice with all the other new folks. Thanks for making me feel like one of the crew.

Ron, I did see you, but you were busy tending to mudbug business; and I was busy eating some of you crews crawfish while they were still hot, and still there!

I do apologize for not living up to the persona that is....

Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez.

I guess I should have at least dressed the part Mike....

A half-smoked cigar- silver tooth- leather /Concho leggings- spurs- shot into hangman’s noose around my neck……..Etc.……

In retrospect, a nice sombrero would have come in real handy Saturday.

Thanks Froggy, I sure did enjoy talking Rabbit dogs with you. That brought back some fond memories of days, and dogs gone by.

And thanks for the comment on my nephew. I am trying my best to instill in him the right values both in hunting and in life. He is growing up to be a fine young kid; and yes he had a great time, and can’t wait for next year.

CB, it was a pleasure to visit with you, and talk a little old school Rice & Gravy.

My MaMa would have loved to sit down with you & talked cookin’ over a strong cup of Community coffee.

It is good to see folks like yourself keeping Cajun cookin’ & the Cajun way of life alive and well.

You seem to have a little lagniappe for everyone you meet my Cajun friend.....

Dozer I really did enjoy talking with you, and hearing your perspective on things.

I found that clip from “The Good the Bad & the Ugly” that my avatar comes from.

I thought you would get a kick out of it.

It is at 54 seconds…..
