Animals we hunt -- especially pigs-- are often obscured by cover. Rick's call a couple of weeks ago got me thinking about setting up an obstruction shot, using a couple of sticks to create three zones for a 3-shot challenge.
I wired the sticks together and stuck them into the ground, placing a dot in the approximate middle of zones numbered 1, 2, and 3. Take the first three shots of a day targeting the dots in the numbered order from 12 yards (6 for kiddos) using three different stances.
If sticks are not available or this set-up is not do-able, you can draw a similar pattern with about 3/4"-1" wide "branches" to define the zones. Hitting/touching a line nearest a zone counts as in the zone.
If using real sticks and hitting one, the arrow counts as a hit in the adjacent zone if it also sticks in target.
Winner will be the one with the most "hits" on the paper and in the correct respective zones on a single given day. Four days' tries allowed. As a tie-breaker, measure a day's one closest arrow to the intended dot -- nearest edge of shaft to center of dot.
Good luck, and have fun y'all!
