Rookie Question

Hey everyone I know this is probably a really stupid question, but how do you interpret the operation hours on a camera? Such as 5x10 or something like that. Thanks in advance.

not sure if it matters, but what type of camera do you have? I have a Sony PD-170. I will look at it tonight and try to remember.
