I had no competition where I was, but I didn't see anything I could shoot until the last weekend. My buddy was in a good spot but he had 3 others in close proximity who stomped all over the place and constantly made noise.

It would be cool if the COE would negotiate with home owners to allow more access so we could spread out more.
This is always the problem of public land hunt. An easy access for you also means a good one for all others. So, a good spot does not always mean "good". Besides the game, you have to compete with other hunters.

Being that close to populated areas, 100 hunter is probably the best you can get. Besides you loose alot of hunters to gun season and cold weather.

new rule this year, you have to kill a doe before you shoot a buck

True 'nuff. I found out I can get acres to one area by private property. It's on the Northeast side where there is competition but maybe the private access will make the difference.

                        Getting excited already.

Sorry guys jumped the gun a bit.

Got email back from Stacy see below....

                          Chris,

When I left on Wednesday, I ended the day with 145 applications. We had 8 applications being completed at 3:00 PM. The drawing will take place next week once our Lake Manager returns. There are 35 guys that are exempt from this year's draw that turned in their applications.

                          Thank you!

What qualifies someone to be exempt?
