Default Explosion at Deer Camp in Red River County

http://www.kltv.com/2019/10/13/three...er-talco-area/

RED RIVER COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The Longview Fire Department confirms the are on their way to assist in search and rescue efforts after an explosion in an underground bunker at a deer camp in the Talco area.

According to officials, three people are unaccounted for and are believed to be trapped inside the bunker. The Longview Fire Marshall said the departmentís rescue team was on the way to assist.

The Paris Fire Department said they sent a two-man response team to do air monitoring.

According to our reporter at the scene, the site of the explosion is at a gated property at near the intersection of CR 1410 and CR 1436 in Red River County.

Other details are limited at this time. KLTV has a crew en route and we will update this story with any new details we receive.

I know some TBH'ers have camps in the area and I hunt about 2-3 miles from here. Crazy

I hunted a small place by Talco when I lived in Paris. Heard some weird stuff sitting out there. Pretty back woods there. Hope they are ok.

Seems like Longview would be a long ways for help from Talco. Paris,Sulphur Springs,Mt Vernon,Mt Pleasant would be closer

I hunted many camps over the years
Never a bunker. But surprised never had a Coleman, gasoline, propane or some other explosion.

A bunker? That in itself is strange. Maybe a storm shelter? Surely it isn't big enough to need a search and rescue team to be called in for over an hour away to be able to locate the people. Hopefully they survived.

Makes more sense if it was a residential structure instead of a bunker. First cold night, propane leak, hot water heater pilot maybe igniting the mixture.. Sad deal. Prayers for the families.

I'm guessing it wasn't meth or their loved ones wouldn't have called officials to check on them when they weren't responding

A house about 2 miles from where my Mom lives near Grandview, TX blew up several years ago at Christmas time. It was a 2 story log home with a basement. A propane leak had fille the basement with propane and the lady and her dog went to bed and when the heat kicked on it blew up the house. I was sitting in the living room of my Mom's house when it blew up. Rattled the windows. Sad deal but could have been worse. The next day her husband would have been back from a business trip and there would have been their 3 kids and spouses and 5 grand kids at the house to celebrate Christmas.

This was a coworker and good friend of mine. I just found out this morning.
I call very few people I meet "good people" but he was one of them.
Cyber security specialist for a large company in Dallas, family man, loved to hunt and fish.
I don't know exactly what happened, just that it involved propane.
I'm really gonna miss this guy.
