Default Favorite Stand Set up

Letís see your favorite stand set up. Doesnít matter if itís a pop up, krivoman, ladder, hang on or climber. Letís see them. Iím about to add some tripods to some lowland with a bunch of second growth and curious to the set ups others have.

This is my favorite stand except for when it is 100 degrees outside and the sun is shining on it

I have a lot of favorites. I just set one this afternoon that might be my new favorite but I don't have pictures of it.

Here are a couple that I do have pictures of. The first one is a pinch point at the intersection of the North Fabius River and Star Creek. Beanfield to the north, corn field to the east, clover/ alfalfa mix to the west, pasture to the south Picture of stand and screenshot of location. The second is my river bottom stand on a community scrape that has been there every year so far.

Deadly spot here just donít get a lot of good bucks here. Plot to left/travel corridor/feed station/acorns

Next on is probably this one. Usually planted in oats/feed/acorns

Another one for later in the season

Do many of you put multiple stands to hunt different winds?

I used to until I got a krivoman and buried it about 8 inches in the ground. It seals well enough that I can beat their noses 95 percent of the time. I killed two mature bucks straight down wind of me last year in that setup.

Heck yeah. When I hunted Brady and hunted feeders. I had 3 or more around a feeding area. Where I hunt out of state on public land I took a whole pallet of stands one year I bought on clearance. If wind ainít right I ainít hunting it. Plus same stand every sit and they know your there. Especially the way 99% of us Texas hunters just bee bop down the road to the stand. A few hunts and itís done other than a new traveling deer.

Other than my bomb proof pig stands I canít remember hunting a deer stand more than 3... maybe 4 sits in a season. Mostly 1-2.... some never, but they are there if needed

Now with a quality stand I can just go in and hunt same trip in and get out if needed

It only took me 6 years to get my set up exactly the way I wanted it. After purchasing a Maverick blind, setting it up on a platform and finally converting to all stand n fill feeders last year, I decided to take a break from the lease to concentrate on some land projects. Sold almost everything and lease-less now.

This is a new set but I think it will be a great stand. I call it the Terrace stand because it's at the end of an erosion control terrace. It's a classic pinch point. The stand is located where 3 ag fields come together along a small creek. There are several trails that intersect near the stand site. Clover/alfalfa mix to the east. Standing corn (will be cut soon) to the north, oats to the west.

Never tried a saddle but am REALLY thinking about it. How comfortable are they to sit in for extended periods of time?
