Why size gun does your kid shoot and how old are they?

.223 for my 7 yo daughter. .243 for my 10 yo boy. Started them both on the AR.

My son shoots a .308. He shot it when he was 6 and had no problems. It is an ar10 so the recoil isn't bad at all.
